As aquarium water is pumped through the filter media' thick poly fiber material, undesirable particulate matter and other waste materials are filtered out. The high grade activated carbon purifies the water, removing dissolved organics, discolorations and odors. Ideal for filtering aquarium water, this premium activated carbon is far more efficient than interior charcoal, plus it wil not raise phosphate levels or affect pH. To ensure optimum performance, replace the Rapids Filter Media every two to three weeks depending on number of aquarium animals and daily feeding habits.
