The finch bird is a good pet for pet owners that don't like to have a lot of interaction with their pet. They are easy to care for and a lot of fun.
All about the finch bird
The finch bird is a small bird that, at least in the wild, hangs around with a lot of other finch birds. The finch bird is very common. In fact, if you look out your window, you'll probably see a finch bird hanging around in big bushes. They're little and though they can come in different colors, your average finch is brown with white or gray specks on it. The males can have flecks of red on them, especially if the finch bird is a house finch, but sometimes it's hard to see the red from a distance. The finch bird has a short bill and is a rather skittish bird.
The finch bird as a pet
The finch bird makes a good pet for pet owners who don't want to play with the animal. The finch bird is skittish of humans by nature and will not enjoy living in a home with humans who desire human/bird interaction. In fact, if you force your finch bird to hang out with you outside of its cage, you will stress it out. A stressed out bird is not fun to be around and it's not healthy for the bird. It's better for the finch bird and the family to leave the bird in its cage.
Though the finch bird doesn't like human company, it does like hanging out with other birds and will get ridiculously lonely if you don’t give it at least one more finch bird to hang out with. Finch birds can live in same-sex or opposite pairs as long as they have enough space to live and exercise. If you have a group of finches, you might notice one finch bullying the other finches. This isn't uncommon in large groups of animals as one animal wants to assert its dominant nature over the group.
The finch bird is a good pet because it's quiet, doesn’t live for a terribly long time and is easy to take care of. Unlike parrots and other animal species that like to squawk and yell, the finch bird makes a minimal amount of noise. The finch bird is a song bird and will make noise, but it will not disrupt your peace.
The finch bird also only lives for about four years so, unlike a parrot, you don't have to worry about what you're going to do with it for 40 years. The finch bird is also relatively easy to take care of and doesn't need a lot of grooming.
