Hopper wild bird feeders

Hopper wild bird feeders usually look like miniature gazebos or barns. These wild bird feeders are sturdy and can therefore hold up larger birds. Hopper feeders also attract smaller birds because they can be filled with seed that is appealing to both large and small birds however, because big birds have an easier time accessing hopper bird feeder as opposed to other feeders, they sometimes bully smaller birds off this wild bird feeder.

Smaller birds like the wild bird feeder that is shaped like a tube because they can eat in peace without larger birds pestering them. Larger birds cannot land on these feeders so the little ones can get their fill.

The platform feeder

A wild bird feeder that has an open platform for birds to land on is called a platform feeder. Like the hopper feeder, platform feeders attract all kinds of birds. Because this type of wild bird feeder attracts so many different birds, the area under this feeder can become messy and littered with seed.
