The Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) recognizes 39 pedigreed
breeds in its Championship Class. In addition to these breeds, there is a Provisional Class for those breeds not yet fully recognized as championship status. The shorthaired breed La Perm is currently the only breed in this provisional class. There is also a Miscellaneous Class, for those breeds who have not yet progressed to provisional status. At the present time, the only breed in this class is the Raga Muffin, a
longhaired cat.
