What Type of Dog Containment?
Depending on your relationship with your dog, and your dog’s
personality, a Dog Containment system might be something you will rely on.
Experts don’t always agree on the best way to raise a dog, but many will admit that some type of containment is right in many circumstances. Here are a few dog containment products to consider:
- Dog crates -- Typically used on a daily basis, these small portable dog houses can be a valuable refuge for your pooch. Many dogs sleep in their crates, and others use them throughout the day as a place to relax, get away from noise or kids, or calm down. Crates come in plastic and metal in all sizes.
- Temporary dog fences --
These fences come in plastic or wire, and usually consist of panels that snap together to form a barrier or enclosed space for your dog. They are ideal for keeping your pooch in a concentrated area during the day if you’re gone. They can also be used in the park, for instance, to give your pup a place to run around without the temptation of bolting away. A temporary fence can also provide protection from other dogs or children who don’t know how to be gentle.
- Dog carriers -- Many people like to bring their dogs along with them wherever they go. If you have a small breed, it’s easy! You can carry your dog out in public in a variety of products, like a small purse designed to hold animals, or a backpack-like dog containment carrier that straps to your torso and leaves your hands free.
