   Semi coarse coat, short and close.

   Square muzzle and domed head is seen. Eyes are almost round and dark. The ears are thin and hanging to the sides.

5. Body:

   Chest is large with well sprung ribs and the loin is muscular and slightly arched. The forelegs are straight.

6. Colors:

   Dark blue mottled, spotted by black spots on the back, side and ears is seen. Tan over the eyes and cheeks. Dark red ticking on the lower legs, chest and lower tail. Blue ticking will dominate the white coat.

   11-12 years.

   They are yet to gain popularity as house pets.

   United States

   Could be traced to Grand Bleu de Gascogne and English Foxhound.

   These were bred from the French Staghounds and the English Foxhounds. In United States these used to be once registered under English, but the Bluetick enthusiasts requested a new distinction. These dogs have a powerful cold nose and are exceptional hunters.
