    Bull Terriers were produced by dog fight enthusiasts in their search for an agile dog. Apart from bulldog and English terrier, Spanish Pointer also contributed to the Bull Terrier. Later they were bred as household pets and the aggressive strains were removed. They used to be guard dogs, herders and watchdogs.
