Havanese puppies are believed to originate from Cuba. These wonderful puppies can either have long coats or short ones, due to a recessive gene that comes out in some litters. Whether short haired or long, these are delightful dogs that will brighten the life of anyone that chooses to bring home one of them for their own.
Havanese puppies are very affectionate, so they make perfect companions. They are very playful and will fill you with laughter at their antics. They are very intelligent, which makes them perfect candidates for obedience classes. Their sociability is something to wonder at from an animal, and you will find they get along with children or other pets with ease. However, with all this comes a warning: you may be in danger of being over loved by these sweet puppies. They get really attached to their owners and human family. They live for your every word and gesture.
They are nosy to the point of wanting to see and hear everything that is going on in the house. If you have to chastise Havanese puppies, it is best not to use a harsh voice. They are very sensitive to voice tones and they are so willing to please that there is really very little need for it. A few puppies of this dog breed tend to bark a bit and even though this can be corrected before your puppy turns into an adult, they do love the sound of their own voice. They do make excellent watchdogs so sometimes their barking can come in handy. Havanese dogs are shy around strangers, but it is better to have them shy than to be jumping up on your company as they come in the door. The fluffy coat may take a bit of maintenance, but when it comes to exercise they don't require a lot.
Havanese Puppies are a very healthy breed and can be expected to live anywhere from 14 to 15 years. 
They make the perfect apartment dogs and while they are such active dogs, they will do just fine inside with just occasional walks to the park. This will keep your precious puppy happy and healthy. Showing off these dogs can be a very enjoyable part of owning them.
They come in a wide range of colors, such as white, cream, champagne, black, black and tan, blue, gold, chocolate, and tri colored. The coat itself is long, flat and soft, tufts towards the legs. This can be clipped short for convenience and easy care or if you have lots of time for upkeep, it can be left growing long. If it is left long, it needs to be brushed and combed at least once a week and there are many wonderful dog grooming tools available that will help you with this. One thing that is wonderful about Havanese Puppies coats is there is little or no shedding, which makes it perfect for those with allergies.
