The origin of Pug puppies is not exactly known. However, the term "pug" in old British English is a term for endearment. Pugs are loveable little dogs that make great pets no matter how big or small your home is. This dog breed dates back to 400 B.C. in China where they were traded. The first puppies of the Pug Breed outside of China were found in Holland in the 16th century.
Most people purchase or adopt pug puppies for companionship. These little dogs rarely weigh over 20 pounds. These are short and square dogs that are great to have around children. Although they can be difficult to train, most pug owners put their dogs through obedience training where they get professional dog training they need. These puppies have been described as being spunky little creatures that have minds of their own.
They are small in size and they have thick skin. Although they come in a fairly wide range of colors, the most common ones are black, fawn, or silver. This breed of dog is known for their little black noses and velvety ears. Their facial features are very distinguishable. These little dogs have very small teeth and eyes that bulge out of their faces.
Prospective owners, especially those with little children, are often concerned with the temperament of these dogs. But they need not worry - the puppies are charming, loveable, and playful. Once they are trained, they respond well to a light tone of voice. They do not like to be yelled at. training with a consistent set of rules and commands is the key. While they are well behaved around children, adults, and other animals, they do require a great deal of attention. They often become jealous if they feel ignored or are not shown a great deal of affection. They might make a habit of constantly following their owners around because they are seeking affection.
Pug puppies are quite easy to take care of. Their skin is easy to keep clean. Grooming only requires a brush or comb. These animals love to be groomed and would be satisfied to be combed all day long. However, their faces must be cleaned daily. To do this, you can use a brush with firm bristles, but be careful not to brush too hard. It is recommended that you only shampoo these dogs when absolutely necessary. They are fairly clean animals that do not need to be bathed very often.
The only drawback to owning pug puppies is that you must have the time and energy to shower them with attention. They enjoy playing games with moderate exercise. While exercising, these animals do become hungry and thirsty, and have a tendency to eat more than they should. You should always keep a careful eye on their diet as they may become overweight.
