    Their head is medium sized and is in proportion to their body. The muzzle is strong and straight and is 1/3 the length of the head. They have hanging, v-shaped medium sized ears that are set high.

    Puli's have a medium length body, strong, muscular neck and a fairly broad and deep chest.

    According to the AKC acceptable colors are solid rusty black, black, all shades of gray and white.

    The Puli was used as a sheepdog in Hungary several thousand years ago. They were almost extinct after World War II with the numbers down to the double digits.

    They can be stubborn but will do well with early obedience training.

    Puli's are wary of strangers. They are not aggressive towards them but may bark.

    Puli's need lots of exercise. They love to play games especially with their masters.

    Puli's have a unique corded coat. The mats will begin to form around 6 months of age and will need to be separated by hand. Their eyes and ears need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Be sure to keep their nails clipped.
  4. Travel Needs:

    For the safety of yourself as well as your Puli, using a safety belt harness is best while traveling in the car. This will keep him comfortable while preventing him from roaming around the car possibly causing injury to himself or others.

    Puli's are good with children they are raised with. They should not be around small children that tease them or are rough with them. They get along fine with other pets.
