There are so many dogs breeds that are cute
and cuddly. Yet, there are also many dog breeds
that are downright ugly, but they are still very much loved by their owners, in
spite of how they look. Quite often, you come across an aggressive
dog. Even though some
breeds seem to have been marked as dangerous animals, such as a
Rottweiler or a Bulldog
you still have to look at the owner for reasons why a dog tends to be aggressive
for no apparent cause. You do have to remember that at one time, these dogs were
cute and cuddly puppies. So what brought about the change so that you have an
aggressive dog when it gets
older? You cannot separate the dog and the owner when you look for the
reason for a dog's aggressiveness. We tend to forget that not all of these dogs
are bad, and for some reason if we see a Rottweiler coming down the street, we
tend to steer away from it.
All dog breeds are not born bad. Yet when a dog attacks, it's the dog that suffers and this usually ends in euthanasia, while the real criminal rarely is punished. The owners are often what make a dog dangerous. There is nothing genetic that makes a dog bad. The aggressiveness is promoted by the owner, and often by a breeder, that keeps dogs of different temperaments together in the same environment. There are organizations with the mission of destroying certain dog breeds, and one has to wonder what will take the place of the Pit bulls and the Dobermans when they are gone.
These issues need to be addressed. When you choose a dog breed, then you have
to be responsible for that dog while growing up and adjusting to different
situations. Obedience classes can help
tremendously with some of the problems you may encounter. There are
also experts who will give you the advice as your
puppy grows and flourishes into the good dog he is when he was born.
Giving the right amount of patience and love while your dog is growing will go a
long way in developing a dog that you can trust in any situation. Lots of
praise, love, and some of those wonderful dog treats
you can find on today's market will do wonders for your dog. Dogs are born to
please and they will go out of their way to do so if treated with tender loving
care.
There are people who are working very hard to see that the owners are held responsible for their dogs' actions. They struggle to implement harsher laws in dealing with animal cruelty or neglect, and if the owners are found responsible, they are to never own another animal again. It is a total injustice against humanity to have an animal and not see to its needs. When a child is attacked by a dog, you have to look no further than the owner for answers as to why this happened. You not only have to choose carefully what kind of dogs breeds you raise, but more importantly, you also have to be diligent in taking care of it properly.
