Type of Competition:
It is a unique online dog show competition where any dog including purebred, mixed breeds can participate.It has regular categories as well as new fun categories. Your dog need not be a specially trained or privileged breed to compete here.

This is an online competition where entries are submitted to their online site. The winners will be awarded the prizes at the special event held at Purina Headquarters, St. Louis, MO.History:
This is a new show started just in 2005 coinciding with National Dog Show. The show is brought forward by Purina. More than 15,000 dogs participated in the first show and more than half a million visitors clicked on the site. The first show was a huge success and the results were announced on February 2006.Sanctioned:
This is not an AKC sanctioned show. This show is one of a kind so far.Entrance Procedure:
Any dog whether purebred or mixed breed or a mutt is eligible for participation. The owner must a citizen and physical resident of United States. The dogs can be entered in 8 regular categories and 3 additional Fun categories. This competition allows the normal dogs -- the dogs that cannot be eligible for other dog shows -- to take part and have a chance to win. The entry is free for all participants. There are two modes - online submission or mailed-in submission. For both modes, the participant must register online, and send photographs and video clips of his dog.Classes:
Dog Show USA has the usual categories as well as three special fun categories.The regular confirmation categories include Herding (Australian Shepherd, Collie, German Shepherd, English Sheepdog, etc), Hound (Basset Hound, Saluki, Greyhound, Beagle, etc), Non-sporting (Bulldog, Lhasa Apso, Shiba Inu, Boston Terrier, etc), Sporting (Irish Setter, Pointer, Labrador Retriever, Cocker Spaniel, etc), Terrier (Airedale Terrier, Bull Terrier, Scottish Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, etc), Toy (Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Pug, Brussels Griffon, etc), Working (Bull Mastiff, Rottweiler, Standard Schnauzer, Newfoundland, etc), Mixed Breed and others (this could be any dog that doesn't confirm to the above categories). The fun categories include Cutest Face (any cute looking dog is eligible), Best Trick (dogs that can perform wonderful tricks), Owner Look-alike (a unique category where both the dog and its owner must have surprisingly similar appearances).
Judging:
Blue Ribbon Panel of NBCU judges select the finalists for all eight conventional categories (Hound, Herding, Non-Sporting, Sporting, Terrier, Toy, Working and Mixed/Other) and the three fun categories (Cutest Face, Best Trick and Owner Look-alike).Awards:
'Best in Show' is the best award. This is awarded based on highest number of online votes received for each finalist. Then there are individual awards for every winner in each category. If there is a tie, the Judges will select the winner and their decision is final.
