    The Finnish Winner International Dog Show is an annual event hosted by Finnish Kennel Club is held every year at the Helsinki Fair Center, Helsinki, the capital of Finland.

    The Finnish Winner Dog Show is held every year at the Helsinki Fair Center in the month of December. The next show is scheduled for the year 2006 on December 9th and 10th.
  3. History:

    The Finnish Winner, also called 'Winner,' is a very famous dog show not only in Finland but on the International level. The year 2002 show saw an entry of about 8000 dogs. The Helsinki Fair Center, which is the largest venue in Helsinki, was overflowing with attendees. Finnish Kennel Club, the host of the show, is a very old dog club that was founded in 1889 and has been hosting dog show for more than a century. The year 2002 also saw the Helsinki All Breed Show, Finnish Winner 2002 Show, and Helsinki Aptus Show all held in Helsinki.
  4. Sanctioned:

    The Finnish Winner is a Finnish Kennel Club sanctioned event and is hosted by this sanctioning club. The event is also sanctioned by the Federation Cynologique International (World Canine Organization) of which the Finnish Kennel Club is a member.
  5. Entrance Procedure:

    Dogs must be eligible as per the eligibility criteria set by the Finnish Kennel Club. The participating dog must be a breed recognized and registered with the Finnish Kennel Club. Any dog born after 1st January 2001 must not be docked or cropped. For dogs participating in the Working or the Champion classes, a proof of entitlement must be attached with the entry form.   6. Classes:

    There were seven classes for participation. The seven classes are Puppy Class under 8 months, Junior Class under 18 months, Intermediate Class under 24 months, Open Class, Working Class, Championship Class, and Veteran Class. The eligible dogs could participate under any of the 10 groups classified by the FCI (World Canine Organization). The ten groups are: Group 1 -- Sheepdogs and Cattle Dogs (except Swiss Cattle Dogs); Group 2 -- Pinschers and Schnauzers, Molossoid Breeds, Swiss Mountain, Cattle Dogs and other breeds; Group 3 -- Terriers; Group 4 -- Dachshunds; Group 5 -- Primitive and Spitz; Group 6 -- Scent Hounds and Related breeds; Group 7 -- Pointing Dogs; Group 8 -- Retrievers, Flushing Dogs and Water Dogs; Group 9 -- Companion and Toy Dogs; and Group 10 -- Sight Hounds.
  7. Judging:

    Judging is done for all the seven classes (Puppy, Junior, Intermediate, Open, Working, Championship and Veteran) and each group is separately judged.
  8. Awards:

    The Best of Show is the highest award. There are also individual awards for each group and breed in different class. A 'Winner Year of the Show' title is given for the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex in each breed for both puppy and the regular classes.
