This is an annual dog show and is actually a series of dog shows conducted by various member kennel clubs.
This dog show is hosted by the Dog Fanciers Association of Oregon and is sanctioned by the American Kennel Club.

The last show was
conducted at the Portland Metropolitan Exposition Center, Portland, Oregon.
History:
This is one of the largest dog shows conducted in the United States attracting more than 4,200 entries every year. The show is conducted for four days and on the first day 14 specialty shows are conducted by the 14 clubs. The shows on the second and third day are conducted by the Dog Fanciers Association of Oregon and they conduct different events including
agility and
obedience. The show on the last day is conducted by the Tualatin Kennel Club.
Sanctioned:
This show is sanctioned by the American Kennel Club (AKC).
Entrance Procedure:
The dogs should satisfy the eligibility criteria that is mentioned by AKC. There are 14 clubs and each might have different conditions for the dogs to participate in the show. The dog should meet the conditions of the particular club to participate in that show.
Classes:
The show judges dogs belonging to the seven groups of AKC and also the dogs belonging to the Miscellaneous group in AKC. The groups that can be entered in this show are Sporting group (English Cocker Spaniel, English Setter, Welsh Springer Spaniel, Pointer etc.),
Hound group (American Foxhound, Irish Wolfhound, Basset Hound, Dachshund etc.), Working group (Alaskan Malamute, Standard Schnauzer, Naepolitan Mastiff, German Pinscher etc.), Terrier group (Australian Terrier, Cairn Terrier, Scottish Terrier, Smooth Fox Terrier etc.), Toy group (English Toy Spaniel, Chinese Crested, Miniature Pinscher, Shih Tzu etc.), Non-Sporting group (Boston Terrier, French Bulldog, Chow Chow, Lhasa Apso, etc.), Herding group (Pembroke Welsh Corgi, German Shepherd Dog, Border Collie, Australian Cattle Dog etc.), Miscellaneous Class (Tibetan Mastiff, Swedish Vallhund, Beauceron etc.).
Judging:
The first day only five groups are judged (Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Non-Sporting) in different areas like conformation, obedience and agility. On the rest of the days, dogs belonging to all the eight groups are judged in all the disciplines.
Awards:
Dogs get various awards as they progress in the show and the highest award is the Best in Show award. There are awards for junior participants and also a special award called AKC Canine Good Citizen Award that is given to a dog with good manners.
