Some accessories, such as perches, are colored to make them more appealing. Be sure the colors are "colorfast," won´t run if wet, and won´t rub off on your bird´s feathers, beak, or feet.

Keeping Your Bird Social – Because birds are typically social creatures, you should consider buying a suction–cup shower perch and letting your bird "shower" with you.
Help with Bathing – If your bird is reluctant to bathe, you can put some wet spinach or watercress in a flat dish for him to play with. It may help him start getting used the idea of bathing.
Body Temperature – Parrot owners should know that a parrot´s chest muscles quickly and repeatedly contract after a bath. It looks like shivering, but is just the parrot´s way of creating body heat.
