It may seem like a leash and harness is wasted on a cat, but, in fact, you can teach your cat to walk on a leash.
Things to Consider:
Harness vs. Collar – Because your cat is less likely to slip out if it, a harness is preferred over a standard collar. In addition, the harness will pull, not at the neck like an attached leash, but at the chest, which is much safer and more comfortable for your cat.
Not Too Tight – When you put the harness on your cat, you should be able to fit two fingers between your cat´s skin and the harness. If you can´t, the harness is too tight.
Help Your Cat Adjust – Let your cat wear the harness for increasingly extended periods over several days before actually attaching the leash. It´s a gentler way to help your cat get used to the feel of the harness.
