Flea shampoos are sometimes an unfortunate necessity. Though it´s not usually pleasant, or easy, to bathe your cat, you'll both appreciate it when she´s free of fleas.
Things to Consider:
Protect Your Cat´s Eyes – Some cat experts suggest putting a drop of mineral oil into your cat´s eyes before shampooing. It won´t hurt her eyes and will protect her eyes from the flea soap.
Contain Both Cat and Fleas – If your cat has fleas, especially if she´s used to going outside, you need to confine her in the house until you can get the fleas under control. By keeping her inside, you can avoid her becoming re-infested in the same outdoor location where she originally acquired the fleas.
Make the Tub Safe – Before bathing your cat, you might want to consider putting a towel or rubber mat on the bottom of the sink or the tub. This will give you cat something to "hold on to" and prevent her from slipping.
