Read About Choosing Livestock Leads

When used with a collar or strap, a lead can provide a handler better control over his livestock, making transport much easier.

Things to Consider:

  • Hand strap – While you may be fine with just a regular rope for your cow, a lead often provides a much sturdier grip, since it has good hand straps at the end.

  • Swivel Head – Always be sure that your lead comes with a swivel head. This prevents the line from becoming twisted if the cow changes sides on you too many times.

  • Leather or Nylon – While both are decent options, nylon leads will give you more color options. Leather can be a bit easier to hold on to and not slip as much as nylon. It all depends on your personal preference and ability to handle your animal.
