Administering insecticides and deworming treatments when necessary will provide your swine with a long, happier life.
Things to Consider:
Double Duty – There are some treatments that are formulated to not only kill internal worms, but also take care of external pests such as mites and lice.
Signs of Sickness –One of the first signs that your swine might be ill is by an increase in their temperature. Know your pig's normal temperature and watch out for changes. Any changes in eating will also be an indicator that your pig does not feel well.
New Pigs – It is always advised to keep new pigs separated from the old for a few days, just to ensure there will be no spreading of parasites or other insects. Even people visiting other farms can easily carry back lice and mites to their animals.
