For added protection from infection, a gauze bandage can be applied to keep the wound dry and clean.
Things to Consider:
Pressure Pads -- Pads can be used to apply pressure points where they are needed, and can be reused over and over again.
Wrapping -- Be sure to wrap securely so that there won't be any slipping, yet not too tight, causing circulation problems or other injury.
Topical and bandage -- You can use a good topical solution, and then place gauze over to keep the ointment in place and prevent dirt from sticking and infecting the wound.
