Knowing how to properly provide your pet reptile with its nutritional needs will contribute to its long life-span.
Things to consider:
Bearded Dragon Food – Being omnivores, bearded dragons require a diet that consists of meat, vegetable matter, and fruits. You can purchase prepared diet food enriched with vitamins and minerals for your bearded dragon in most pet stores.
Carnivore Food –Carnivore reptiles require an animal protein-based diet. You can choose from fresh, canned, freeze-dried or dried food sources to nourish your carnivore pet.
Crickets and Accessories– There are an array of cricket food sources you can choose from. There are crickets in a can to cricket drinks. Products such as the Bug Napper are great for catching live insects without having to handle them.
Gecko Food–There are products on the market that can provide your gecko pet with essential vitamins and nutrients. Be sure to feed your gecko with foods that are vegetable-based.
Iguana Food– Purchase foods that provide calcium for proper bone development, as well as vitamins and minerals to promote growth.
Live Food– There are a variety of live products that can be purchased for your pet reptile. You can choose from grasshoppers, mealworms and other live insects.
Turtle/Tortoise Food– Turtles and tortoises will either be herbivores, carnivores or omnivores. You should know what pet species you have in order to provide its proper nutritional needs. In most cases, a turtle's or tortoise's diet will consist of leafy vegetables, fruits and meats.
