Read About Dealing with Constipation

Have you noticed lately that your dog is not using the bathroom like he should? The problem could be that he has gotten himself constipated.

Constipation in dogs is not a common problem, but it can be serious if left untreated. If your dog starts showing signs of illness, be sure to get an appointment scheduled with your veterinarian.

There are some measures that you can take to help keep your dog from getting constipated. Some of these are:

  1. Adding wheat bran to your dog´s meals.
  2. Putting your dog on a high fiber diet (consult your vet before starting this).
  3. Make sure he has plenty of water and change it two or three times a day to make sure it stays fresh.
  4. Make sure he is getting enough exercise. Too little can cause them to have problems.

Although constipation is not a common problem, it can make your dog very uncomfortable and could lead to problems that are more serious. Be sure to talk with your vet if you think that your dog has a problem with constipation.
